This is a "Star of David" Afghan I made for a friend
Materials
Worsted Weight Yarn, about:
MC (Blue or Cape Cod Blue) 34 oz.
CC (White or Bright White) 26 oz.
Crochet hook, size G or size needed for gauge
cc = chain sc = single crochet sl = slip st(s) = stitch(es)
With MC, ch 174 loosely.
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 173 sc.
Row 2 (Right side): Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across.
Note #1: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark last row as right side.
Note #2: When changing colors work over color not being used, holding it with normal tension.
Note #3: On right side rows, work Chart from right to left; on wrong side rows, work from left to right.
Row 3: Begin following Chart as follows: Ch 1, turn; sc in first 2 sc (edge), * with CC sc in next sc, with MC sc in next 2 sc, with CC sc in next 10 sc, with MC sc in next 17 sc, with CC sc in next 10 sc, with MC sc in next 2 sc, repeat from * 3 times more, with CC sc in next sc, with MC sc in last 2 sc (edge).
Continue in pattern, following Chart through Row 43. Repeat Rows 3-43, 5 times; then repeat Row 3 once more.
Next 2 Rows: With MC ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Finish off.
EDGING
Rnd 1: With Right side facing, join CC with slip st in any sc; ch 1, sc evenly around working 3 sc in each corner; join with slip st to first sc.
Rnds 2-5: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc around working 3 sc in each corner; join with slip st to first sc. Finish off.
Rnds 6: With right side facing, join MC with slip st in any sc, ch 1, sc in each sc around, working 3 sc in each corner; join with slip st to first sc, finish off.
